SANIBEL, Fla. -- The City of Sanibel says they are experiencing extremely heavy traffic in the island heading into a busy weekend.
They say the traffic is a combination of "seasonal" traffic and an art fair being held on the island Friday and Saturday.
Sanibel Police Chief Bill Dalton urges everyone to be patient.
Historically the roads of Sanibel are busiest in peak season during the hours of 3:00PM to 6:00PM. It's recommended to avoid discretionary trips and off-island travel during these hours.
