LEE COUNTY, Fla. – Two sales tax-free periods are planned this summer in Florida to help consumers prepare for hurricane season and the school year.

At the end of May there will be a hurricane supplies tax holiday. It starts May 31st and runs until June 6th, and applies to things like batteries, weather radios, and fuel cans.

Then, right before school starts back up after summer break, there will be a school supplies tax free holiday. To get tax-free school supplies you have to shop August 2nd to the 6th. That will apply to things like clothes, backpacks, and notebooks.
