A pilot was arrested from Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) for carrying an unlicensed firearm on Saturday.
Brian Machtemes was going through TSA, when security flagged a bag as having a loaded firearm, according to the arrest report.
When authorities identified the bad belonged to Machtemes, he was arrested.
Sun Country Airlines released a statement apologizing to passengers for any inconvenience.
“We’re aware of the situation involving one of our pilots at the Fort Myers Airport and have been in contact with local law enforcement. We extend our full apologies to all of the passengers inconvenienced in their travels. Taking care of our customers is always our primary concern, and we provided our passengers with hotels, meal vouchers and a $200 flight credit.”
