Duplex damaged by fire in Fort Myers

FORT MYERS, Fla - Fire crews were battling a fire in the Pine Manor neighborhood of Fort Myers early Tuesday morning.

The call came into Lee County Public Safety at 1:17 AM Tuesday morning. Within 20 minutes, more than a dozen crews were on the scene.

According to property records, the building in the 5600 block of Fifth Avenue is a duplex.

Investigators on the scene, tell Fox 4 the building was vacant and the fire was possibly started by downed power lines. At this point, damage has been confined to mostly the outside of the building. No other homes are damaged and no one living on either side of the fire has been relocated.

Fire crews remain on the scene.
