NAPLES, Fla. -- A homeless man was arrested Monday after several witnesses reported seeing the man walking around nude and touching himself.
According to the Collier County Sheriff's Office, deputies were called to Tamiami Trail East at Spruce Street after reports of a nude man walking behind homes.
Deputies located a man, later identified as 52-year-old Jamie Whiting, standing in the open in an alley behind businesses. He ran when he saw the patrol car, and deputies were able to locate him lying in a ditch, completely naked.
Several witnesses came forward reporting seeing Whiting in the area.
One said she was making dinner with her kids when she saw Jamie walking by naked and saw him playing with himself before telling her son to call police.
Another reported seeing Jamie leaning against a wall near garbage cans while naked, and said people were walking past him.
Whiting was arrested and charged with Indecent Exposure and Obstruction of an Officer. He listed as a convicted felon.
