Residents in Fort Myers and Cape Coral to hit the polls for municipal elections Tuesday

LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- Residents of the cities of Fort Myers and Cape Coral can hit the polls Tuesday to decide municipal positions.

Polls will open at 7:00 a.m. and close at 7:00 p.m. Florida law requires that you provide picture and signature identification at the polls and prohibits a voter from voting in a precinct in which the voter does not reside.

In Fort Myers, residents will decide on city council seats in three wards.  Only residents within these wards can vote for the candidates.

Ward 1:
Teresa Watkins Brown
Willie Green

Ward 3:
Minnie Henry Jackson
Terolyn P. Watson

Ward 5:
Fred Burston
Lydia Lowell-Sherman

In Cape Coral, voters will decide on a new mayor and make city council selections in four districts.  Voters in the city can place votes for all five races.

District 1:
John Gunter
Graham Madison Morris

District 4:
Richard Leon
Jennifer I. Nelson

District 5:
James Schneider
Dave Stokes

District 6:
John Karcher
Rick Williams
