CAPE CORAL, Fla. — CAPE CORAL, Fla. -- Cape Coral Police Department responded to the 1000 block of SE 24th Street for reports of a shooting around 3:25pm. CCPD confirmed one person was shot and transported to the hospital, condition is unknown at this time.

A witness told Fox4 she saw a Honda Accord with multiple males pull up to the residence. She heard people yelling, heard the gunshot, and saw people running. Some of this was caught on her dash cam video. She says police come to her street often, but she's never seen anything like this before.

"It's scary especially when you have little kids at home, and you don't want them to be injured, and there's a neighborhood full of kids so you don't want to see that happening," said neighbor.

Tuesday, police confirmed that one person was found lying on a table behind the home, a victim of multiple gunshot wounds.

CCPD had a heavy police presence including Forensics and Major Crime Investigators scanning the area and talking to neighbors. The crime tape was cleared around 5:45pm, but police were still present.

Cape Coral PD says currently there is no threat to the public.
