LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- The crime rate in Southwest Florida is the lowest of any region in the state for the 7th straight year, according to the State Attorney's Office.

The State Attorney's Office, 20th Judicial Circuit says their region has the lowest crime rate once again, according to 2018 numbers from the Florida Uniformed Crime Report System.

Florida 20th Judicial Circuit includes Charlotte, Collier, Glades, Hendry, and Lee counties.

“I am proud of the hard work of the men and women in law enforcement who dedicate themselves to keeping Southwest Florida a safe place to live. The State Attorney’s Office works closely with the many law enforcement agencies throughout our circuit so together we can continue to prevent crime and hold those who break the law accountable,” said State Attorney Amira Fox.
