Posted

NAPLES, Fla. - Red tide has been reported again on Vanderbilt Beach - and visitors are seeing, smelling and feeling its effect.

Massive dead fish are washing up on the shore, and people in Naples tell 4 in Your Corner Wednesday things on the beach are worse than they've been in weeks.

Red tide toxins can irritate your throat and lungs, and high winds aren't helping matters for most beach-goers.And, studies have shown that - depending on how windy it is - red tide toxins can affect people as far as a mile inland .

Red tide may continue to impact Collier County beaches all the way until Saturday, Collier County Pollution Control said.
