CAPE CORAL, Fla. -- A Southwest Florida team of realtors kicks off the holiday season by donating to local charities.

About 200 donors filled the halls of Aubuchon Realty Group's corporate office in Cape Coral Monday night for the 20th annual Helping Hands for Holidays charity event. They're donating to Make a Wish Foundation, Builders Care and Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southwest Florida.

"It always feels good to give back," said Tracy Vanlandschoot, who's been donating to Helping Hands for six years now.

"I got involved through the Ronald McDonald House. When I saw what a difference it made for the kids and parents that stayed at the house, and how it changed their lives."

Donors are here and mingling for a good cause. And organizers said they hope they raise more funds for charities than last year. They said they’re trying to beat their goal of $37,000.

"This year I’m sure we’ll do better," said Jeff Miloff, broker with Miloff and Aubuchon Realty Group. He said while it's too early to determine how much more money will be raised, but said the charities look forward to whatever they can contribute.

"Three different organizations all get a share and they look forward every year to us doing this. It helps with the things they’re trying to do. So, it’s a win-win," said Miloff.

Donations will be given to the three charities by the end of the year.
