The rainy season can make it difficult to take care of your plants and flowers. Four in Your Corner found some tips on how to keep your garden healthy during the rainy season. Fox 4 went to The Thrifty Garden for information on what the best practices are to keep up the activity while the wet weather is still present.

“Everybody in any environment and every house can grow something. So if you have a desire for it, there is a setup, there is a plant that will work for you, Richard Molek Told Four in Your Corner.

Molek runs the Thrifty Garden and says that he often has people who come in who aren't sure about their gardening ability. Some have had a bad experience in the past with a plant in the past and think that gardening is beyond.

Molek says the best thing to do is find a plant or plants that work best with your lifestyle. In the case of rainy season, instead of trying to tackle many outdoor plats, one or two, low maintenance plants might be best. Molek recommends the ZZ plants which, “thrives on neglect”.

The Thrifty Garden is located at the Butterfly Estates in Fort Myers. More information can be found here.
