With the latest Equifax security breach, you may have some questions and concerns about your identity.

Local finance expert and owner of Waterstone Financial, James Gallagher, says if you have a credit history, you are affected by massive breach. He says the first step is to go to Equifax Security 2017 or, call 866-447-7559. Gallagher also suggests the free protection service Trusted ID Premier. The company provides credit monitoring, social security monitoring and identity theft insurance.

To protect yourself in the future, Gallagher says you can check your free credit report every year. You can set alerts for fraud notification. Lastly, Gallagher suggests placing a freeze on your credit.
