Probationary search leads to man arrested

CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. --- Charlotte County Sheriff's arrested a man for violating his probation. 

Deputies assisted a State Probation officer with a probationary search at the 27000 block of Sunnybrook Road. 

According to Deputies, the suspect Stacy Wright was home during the time of the search but attempted to flee the scene once a gun was found. 

Wright was detained by Deputies before he could get away. 

As officials continued to search Wright's home and found a backpack with two bags of  marijuana and a additional bag in the nightstand. 

A gun was retrieved during the search as well. 

Wright is a convicted felon and is prohibited from carrying a firearm. He is being charged with:

Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon

Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute 

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
