NAPLES, Fla — A local man is facing multiple felony charges after deputies say he went on a grand theft auto spree.
The Collier County Sheriff's Office arrested 24-year-old Ivan Mauricio Zegarra.
According to arrest reports, on Wednesday, CCSO responded to a report of a burglary and grand theft auto at a home in Naples on Annemore Lane in the Pelican Bay community.
Investigators say a woman who is the home watch service for the victim told deputies when she arrived at the home; she saw somebody moved the homeowner's red 2005 Lexus from the garage to the driveway.
She says Zegarra was sitting in the driver's seat, and a gray Toyota pickup was also parked in the driveway.
The pickup truck did not belong to the homeowner, so the witness pulled her vehicle behind the Lexus to prevent it from leaving.
She confronted Zegarra, and he ran behind the house.
Investigators say she starting taking pictures of the pickup, and Zegarra ended up getting inside the pickup and drove away.
Deputies spotted Zegarra on Rue Deville, where the pickup was stopped at the dead-end.
They say Zegarra got out of the vehicle and jumped over a concrete wall.
Investigators found envelopes inside the pickup that looked like pay subs from a pool company.
The victim confirmed the pool company was the same company she used for service.
CCSO says while deputies were looking for Zegarra, someone stole another car on Heatherly Lane.
A woman said she came home to find her garage opened, and her white 2014 Lexus was stolen.
CCSO deputies were able to locate the stolen Lexus on U.S. 41 East in East Naples and attempted to do a traffic stop.
They say Zegarra sped up, led deputies on a pursuit, and was eventually arrested.
He's charged with burglary, grand theft auto, fleeing and eluding law enforcement, resisting arrest, and violation of state probation.
