Driver accused of dragging victim and bicycle in Fort Myers

FORT MYERS, Fla. — An arrest was made in Hit and Run in the area of Tice Street and Carolina Avenue in Fort Myers.

An investigation revealed that on Monday the victim was hit while riding his three-wheeled bicycle along Tice Street. Witnesses observed the vehicle dragging the victim and bike.

They were able to get the driver to stop to free the victim and his bicycle, but the driver continued on and then parked in a field.

Abel Montejo Hernandez 28, was charged with DUI, DUI Causing Serious Bodily Injury, Failure to Stop/Remain at Crash Involving Serious Bodily Injury, Leaving the Scene of a Crash Involving Property Damage and Driving without a License involving Serious Bodily Injury.
