**UPDATE (11AM)** -- Police have identified the victims in Tuesday morning's drive-by shooting on Belmont Street.

They say 38-year-old Zarifer King and 19-year-old James Benjamin were taken to Lee Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

**UPDATE (7AM)** -- Fort Myers Police have confirmed with Fox 4 that two people were shot and injured early Tuesday morning.

Both victims were taken to the hospital in stable condition.

Several bullet holes are visible in the wall of an apartment building and numerous evidence markers are scattered around the scene.

FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Police in Fort Myers are investigating a reported shooting in a neighborhood near Palm Beach and Veronica Shoemaker boulevards.

Neighbors say they heard gunshots around 4 a.m. Tuesday morning near Belmont Street and Polk Street.

Police have not released many details yet, but a Fox 4 crew at the scene reports a large police presence and a person being taken away on a stretcher.

No word on any arrests.

Neighbors say they hear gunshots on a regular basis.
