Police investigate shooting in Fort Myers that leaves one dead

UPDATE (11/13) -- Police have confirmed that the victim was 21-year-old Marvin Peacock.

Police are asking for anyone who may have witnessed the shooting to contact the Fort Myers Police Department at (239) 321-7700.  Witnesses may also contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477).  All callers will remain anonymous and will be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.

Authorities are conducting an investigation after a man's body was found laying in the street on Sunday

Fort Myers Police and Lee County Deputies responded to the Lincoln Park neighborhood near the Dunbar community in Fort Myers, at the intersection of Thomas Street and Pauldo Street shortly after 7 pm.

Police say the victim was fatally shot and at least one person involved in the shooting was detained.

Family members tell us that the victim is Marvin Peacock, who had graduated from Dunbar High School last year, and they believe there is a second suspect involved in the shooting.

Police have not confirmed that information at this time.

A dirt bike was seen being taken from the scene as evidence.
