NAPLES, Fla — The Naples Police Department is investigating a crash that killed an Illinois man on Thursday.
It happened at the intersection of Old Trail Dr and US 41.
Investigators say 27-year-old Zachary Plantz was driving a Mercedes southbound on US 41.
They say the Mercedes collided with the rear of a semi-truck and trailer, making a U-turn at the intersection.
Plantz was pronounced dead at the scene.
Naples Police says the crash is an active traffic homicide investigation.
