LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- Police have confirmed that a man found dead in a Fort Myers pond earlier this week has been identified as a local man who had recently been reported missing.
According to Fort Myers Police, 20-year-old Santiago Gomez was the man in the car.
On Monday, officers responded to a vehicle in a pond off Forum Boulevard. They recovered the vehicle and found a body inside.
Gomez has last been seen leaving his job at Chili's in Fort Myers the week before.
This incident is being investigated as a single car accident and no foul play is suspected at this time.
