CAPE CORAL, Fla. -- A Cape Coral man is in jail on no bond after police say he was seen selling Fentanyl near a school on two occasions.

39-year-old Mario Aversano is charged with 2-counts of Sale of Fentanyl within 1,000 feet of a school and 2-counts of Possession of Fentanyl.

According to Cape Coral Police, two separate undercover operations observed Aversano selling the synthetic opioid.

Fentanyl is about 50-100 times more potent than morphine and 50 times more potent than many forms of heroin.

Aversano was arrested Thursday and taken to Lee County Jail.

Police did not identify the school near where the drug sales took place.
