CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla - Officials say a plane crashed just half a mile from the Punta Gorda Airport on Saturday.
Charlotte County Deputies responded to a cow pasture where the crash took place.
A SNJ5 Navy trainer had lost power and was unable to make it to the runway, deputies said.
The pilot was able to safely belly land the aircraft and was uninjured. The co-pilot suffered only a minor scratch to his arm.
No cows were injured in the landing.
