LEE COUNTY, Fla.-- The Gulf Coast Humane Society is preparing for one of their biggest fundraisers of the year called "The Fast and The Furriest."
The 8th annual event will be on Saturday, April 7 at Hammond Stadium in Fort Myers. The sales will benefit the shelter's mission of finding pets their forever homes.
The Fast and The Furriest is a 5K run and walk where people can bring their pets along. There will be water and cooling stations to keep pets refreshed.
The first 500 people to cross the finish line will get medals. The event is for all ages. Tickets are $30 for adults and $35 on the day of the race. It's an additional $5 if you are brining your pet to race with you.
