FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Troopers say a pedestrian was taken to the hospital in critical condition Sunday night after being hit by a car on McGregor Boulevard.
It happened around 6:45 p.m. near Gulf Point shopping center off San Carlos Boulevard.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, the pedestrian was attempting to cross McGregor as a car was approaching southbound.
The car hit the pedestrian and came to a stop at the scene.

The victim, a 51-year-old male, was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital. His identity has not been released yet.
The crash remains under investigation.
