UPDATE 8:30AM:
The Florida Highway Patrol said a semi truck-trailer was approaching a green light at the intersection with Knights Drive, as a woman was trying to cross all travel lanes of Jones Loop Road.
She stepped in front of the semi, according to FHP, and was hit and killed.
The crash remains under investigation. The victim was a 25-year-old from Arcadia, according to FHP.

The Charlotte County Sheriff's Office reports that one person has died after a crash.
The office posted the notice just before midnight on Wednesday noting that Jones Loop Road at Mac Drive will be closed for an extended period of time after a vehicle and pedestrian crashed.
Florida Highway Patrol is on scene investigating, according to the office.
Fox 4 is working to learn more about how and what happened. When our team arrived around 6 a.m., they said there were no closed roads or debris or authorities in the area.
