CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. — A 20-year-old pedestrian died in a crash involving a tractor-trailer on I-75 Southbound early Sunday morning.
The Florida Highway Patrol says the 48-year-old driver was traveling southbound in the outside lane of I-75, passing mile marker 162 when he saw the pedestrian walking northbound in the southbound outside lane of I-75.
Troopers say the driver swerved right to avoid the pedestrian, but the front of the tractor-trailer hit the pedestrian.
Troopers say the crash remains under investigation.
