CAPE CORAL, Fla. -- Police have taken a woman into custody at the scene of a car versus pedestrian crash on Pine Island Road Monday.
The crash happened shortly after 1 p.m. Monday in the 3500 block of Pine Island Road, just west of Burnt Store Road.
Early reports indicate a roadside worker was struck by a vehicle and thrown into the vehicle's windshield. That worker was taken to the hospital.
A Fox 4 crew at the scene saw a woman being taken into custody by police.

The crash is expected to cause delays in the area for drivers headed from Matlacha toward Cape Coral while the investigation continues.
