LEE COUNTY, Fla. - A pedestrian was hit and killed by a car in Fort Myers Beach in a hit and run on San Carlos Boulevard.
Florida Highway Patrol says it happened around 10:14 Tuesday night.
Troopers say 70-year-old Alfred Lebeau walked into the path of a northbound car and was struck by it.
Lebeau was pronounced dead at the scene.
The car's driver, 26-year-old Angel Martinez, fled the scene northbound on San Carlos Boulevard and was later located several miles away.
Charges are pending in the case.
