COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. — A pedestrian is dead after being hit by an oncoming car while crossing the street, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
46-year-old Robert Naugle 46, was crossing Vanderbilt Beach Road around 12:56 a.m. Saturday when a witness says they stopped for him to cross. Another driver, 24-year-old Gage Oberman failed to stop and hit Naugle as he was continuing to cross the street.
Naugle was transported to North Collier Hospital, and his relatives have been notified.
FHP said this is an ongoing investigation, but no charges have been filed at this time.
