One cold weather shelter opening in Port Charlotte Tuesday night

PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. -- With the National Weather Service forecasting near-freezing temperatures Tuesday night, one cold weather station will open in Port Charlotte to help anyone who needs refuge from the cold.

The Homeless Coalition, located at 1476 Kenesaw Street in Port Charlotte, will be open from 7:00 p.m. Tuesday to 8 a.m. Wednesday.

The American Red Cross will be supporting the shelter with cots and blankets.
