Olympia Track Club helps kids for a better future

Olympia Track Club in Fort Myers is a nonprofit organization that uses track and field combined with supportive educational services to help boys and girls work towards higher education.

The track club is open for boys and girls ages six to 16 and is coached by former 1992 U.S. Olympic team member, Coach Maddette Smith.

Established in 2008, Coach Smith says the track club has helped so many kids move onto college, but also gives them hope for a better life.

To create a strong connection between academics and athletics, the Olympia Track Club launched "The Academy," that provides tutorial support for any club member not at or above grade level in reading, math, or they want to be at the top of their class in a year or less.
