NORTH PORT, Fla. -- Police have been issued an arrest warrant for a North Port sex offender who was recently released from jail in Charlotte County.

41-year-old Timothy Rice was arrested on Friday after complaints that he was inappropriately grabbing children at a public swimming pool in Englewood. Rice, a convicted sex offender, was released the next day on $50,000 bond.

According to North Port Police, new charges of Loitering or Prowling on children are now pending on Rice related to accusations that he was playing with children in a community pool in North Port back in November 2018. In that case, residents of The Woodlands in Cedar Grove reported seeing Rice actively playing with at least 7 children at the community pool, of which Rice is not a resident.

North Port Police tell Fox 4 that before their warrant was issued, Rice properly filed a travel plan with the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office due to being "spooked" by the media outside his home.

Rice's whereabouts are now unknown.

If you have any information on his location please call the North Port Police Department at 941-429-7300.
