NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. - North Fort Myers High School football coach Earnest Graham announced his resignation in a letter Tuesday.

In the note, Graham said a need to spend more time with family and ongoing health issues were behind his decision.

"It is time for me to take care of myself and fully support their needs and dreams," he wrote.

Graham has been a coach at North Fort Myers High School for the last four years.

"My hope is that my players carry with them the principles, work ethic and imagination necessary to build a future," Graham wrote.

Principal Debbie Diggs wished Graham the best in his decision.

"Our love and support are with Coach Graham as he focuses on his health and family during this time of transition. We look forward to a continued relationship as a Red Knight family," she wrote.
