NAPLES, Fla. -- Starting Friday, you will be able to see the month-old eastern bongo calf at Naples Zoo.

The zoo asked the community to help name this new baby boy with a naming contest. And its name is "Bakari", which in Swahili means “one who will succeed.”

He was born last month. The calf is doing well and staying close to mom.

The mother and father of the new baby bongo were specifically matched by the species survival plan.

Bongos are the largest of the forest antelope, and the colorful creatures can weigh between 525 and 880 pounds.
