COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. — A Naples bicyclist is in serious condition after being hit by a pickup truck on Bonita Beach Road.
On March 23, at around 6:13 a.m., a pickup truck was traveling east on Bonita Beach Road as the bicyclist was riding just ahead of it.
Florida Highway troopers say the right side mirror of the vehicle struck the bicyclist as the truck attempted to pass him Bonita Beach Road and Valley Drive.
The 67-year-old man from Naples sustained a serious injury. He was transported to a local hospital. Reports say he was not wearing a helmet.
Troopers are looking for the driver of the truck which they believe to be a 2013 to 2019 Dodge Ram, 4500 to 5500 series pickup.
