COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. -- Florida Highway Patrol says charges are pending after a bicyclist was hit and killed on Golden Gate Parkway Tuesday.
They say that at 8:13 a.m., a driver hit and killed 72-year-old William Cahill of Naples, who was riding a bicycle.
It happened on Golden Gate Boulevard near 10th Street Southeast.
FHP says Cahill was riding within the bike lane, when a car driven by 52-year-old Yves Desruisseaux of Naples veered into the bike lane and hit him from behind.
Cahill was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
