A dead goat in a plastic bag was found Sunday at the Coral Ridge Funeral Home and Cemetery in Cape Coral.
Four in your corner went to see if it was still there Monday, but it was gone. The general manager of the funeral home and cemetery said he hadn't heard of the dead goat on his property and didn't want to comment.
Phil Mullen, the Public Affairs Officer with the Cape Coral Police Department said it's rare, but they have seen dead goats as a form of religious sacrifice in this area.
One woman back in March spotted a goat head in her front yard. Around the same time, a few teenagers saw two decapitated goats in a Cape Coral canal.
Two months later, a man found a few goats without heads in a Lehigh Acres canal.
And Mullen said this most recent sighting is a little odd because it was found in a cemetery.
"It's definitely strange, but not something people should be nervous or frightened of," he said.
Cape Coral Police say to contact them if you see anything like this and are concerned.
