CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. — This Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office along with several other organizations come together to clean up Kenesaw Street and surrounding areas.
The area is known for where the homeless camp in the wooded areas around the Homeless Coalition.
CCSO says approximately 40 volunteers worked to remove trash and debris from the area.
More than 112 yards worth of trash was cleared. The county then rough-cut mowed and cleared large amounts of the brush as well.
Participating organizations included: Keep Charlotte Beautiful, Charlotte County Solid Waste, the Homeless Coalition, St. Maximilian Church, Jesus Loves You ministry, and the Florida Department of Corrections. The location is known for having a large homeless population who often camp in the wooded areas around the Homeless Coalition.
