FORT MYERS, Fla. -- A Fort Myers man is facing numerous charges after a police chase that began with the suspect jumping off the third floor of an apartment complex.

Fort Myers Police arrested 28-year-old Jeremy Moore Thursday night with the help of a K9 unit.

Police say they responded to an apartment in Sunrise Towers on Central Avenue around 6:15 p.m., where Moore reportedly was in a verbal dispute with his girlfriend.

As officers arrived, they say Moore began walking away from the scene, against orders to stop. Moore, who had an active felony warrant out for his arrest, jumped from a third floor platform and fled on foot.

K9 Lord tracked Moore to the 2300 block of Stella Street, a few blocks away, where he was taken into custody.

Officers say they found 1.1 grams of MDMA in his pocket.

Moore was charged with Simple Battery, Kidnap-False Imprisonment, Resisting Arrest W/O Violence, and Possession of a Controlled Substance.

K9 Lord was rewarded with a small ice cream cone and a pat on the head.
