Mother identifies her son as the man who broke into several vehicles in Naples

COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. — James Lawrence Morgan 30, is charged with burglary while armed, attempted burglary, grand theft of a firearm, and petty theft.

Morgan entered two unlocked vehicles parked in residential driveways and stole a Sig Sauer P239 9mm caliber handgun, a backpack and a bottle of prescription medication.

One of the break-ins was captured on home security video.

Morgan also attempted to break into a locked vehicle that was parked in a residential driveway but was unsuccessful.

The incident was captured on the victim’s security camera, which was submitted to the Collier County Sheriff’s Office.

His mother identified James as the suspect in the security videos.

Morgan also confessed to the crimes and led detectives to the stolen firearm, which was recovered.

He was arrested and booked into the Collier County jail. He is facing multiple felony charges.
