Mother and son reported missing in Collier County

COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. -- Deputies are asking for the public’s help locating a 23-year-old mother and her 1-year-old son who are missing.

According to the Collier County Sheriff's Office, Shelby Caputo and her son RJ Cudney Jr. were last seen in the 4700 block of Escobar Avenue on Monday, September 16.

Caputo missed a scheduled court hearing on that day. Family members reported mother and son missing on Thursday night, September 19.

Deputies said Caputo indicated to family members she may leave Florida. They have not been able to reach her and are concerned.

The mom came home to a note from Shelby saying she and her son were moving to another state with a friend and she'd call when she got there.

However Shelby left behind her cell phone which was factory reset she doesn't have a vehicle and hasn't been answering through facebook.

Deputies said Caputo is described as 5 feet 8 inches tall and 155 pounds with red hair and blue eyes.

Deputies said RJ is described as 2 feet tall and 24 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes.
