CAPE CORAL, Fla. — A dog is on the mend tonight after Cape Coral Officers found it severely malnourished with injuries.
Last week, officers responded to the dog in distress on Southwest 22nd Lane. It looked very underweight.
Homeowners say they found the dog roaming for the past month and we're trying to get it back to health.
The dog named Axel has a microchip the owner was contacted and said Axel had been missing for a month.
Lee County Domestic Animal Services is now treating Axel.
