Midwest Food Bank prepares to donate 2,000 holiday boxes for Christmas

FORT MYERS, Fla — The Midwest Food Bank is preparing to pack & donate 2,000 holiday boxes for Christmas this year.

Organizers say on Dec. 5th, from 10 am to 2 pm, Rotary members will volunteer at the Fort Myers warehouse.

They will be assisting with packages the holiday meal boxes/

Midwest Food Bank says each family will get a holiday box containing a ham or chicken and side items such as mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, gravy, green beans, fruit, and apple pie in

It will also have snacks and their Tender Mercies rice and beans meal.

“The Christmas season offers a time of reflection of the year past and provides hope for the year ahead. We want to contribute to that hope by putting a full holiday meal on the table.” Says Karl Steidinger, Executive Director of Midwest Food Bank-Florida.
