Meals of Hope still feeds over 600 families impacted by hurricane Irma every week, one year after the storm made landfall.

Meals of Hope has added eight food pantries because of the high demand, so they now have 11 food pantries open across Southwest Florida. The nonprofit says the number of people they've needed to assist since Irma has risen because many families have not fully recovered. They say they rely on community support to help everyone recover a year later.

September is also Hunger Action Month, a month where people across the country come together to take action and fight hunger.
