CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. --- Deputies in Charlotte County arrest a woman for prostitution at a massage parlor.

Detectives with the Special Investigations Unit arrested Shumei Xu, an employee with Taiji Massage in Port Charlotte on Wednesday for prostitution. According to investigators, an undercover Detective entered the parlor, located at the 2800 block of Tamimai Trail, and was greeted by Xu.

According to a Charlotte County Sheriff's report, the undercover Detective and Xu agreed on a 30-minute massage for $50. Shortly after beginning, investigators say Xu asked the Detective if he "wanted more," engaging him in a conversation about more money.

The suspect then exited the room and returned shortly after with clear plastic materials and immediately attempted to remove the undercover Detective's underwear. The undercover officer stopped her actions, telling the woman he changed his mind, at which during that time he alerted the rest of the investigative team.

According to Charlotte County Sheriff's, Xu fled the building upon hearing sheriff's enter the building. She was found walking two streets behind the business on Linton Lane and ran when she saw law enforcement. Xu complied after a Detective exited his patrol car and gave several commands to stop.

Xu was arrested and charged with Prostitution and resisted an officer without violence.
