MARCO ISLAND, Fla — The Marco Island Police Department is warning people about a water bill scam.
Police say two city of Marco Island water customers have received a text message about fraudulent bills.
They say the bill claimed the customers owed a significant amount of money for past due water charges.
Police posted on their Twitter, letting people know the city of Marco Island does do not use text messages to collect bills.
