A manhunt is underway for a suspect connected to a murder and home invasion robbery, the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office said.
Investigators say Edwin Randall and his accomplice entered a residence at 2871 Eleventh Street in Englewood attempting to remove a safe from the bedroom.
While the men were attempting to remove the safe, two of the residents tried to stop them and obtain the weapon.
The accomplice, Charles Williams was killed during the altercation. Randall later fled the scene, CCSO said.
Based on evidence recovered from the scene detectives have requested and obtained a warrant for the arrest of Edwin Randall.
