CAPE CORAL, Fla. -- An act of kindness started with a Good Samaritan and ended with an officer on a scooter, and it was all caught on body camera video.

Someone called Cape Coral Police to help an older gentleman who was stopped on a sidewalk. He appeared to be having issues with his electric mobility scooter and was possibly dehydrated.

That’s when Officer Humberto Vazquez came to his aide. “I just want to make sure you're ok. I don't know how long you were out here, but it gets pretty hot out here,” said Officer Vazquez. “I'll run over there and see if I can get the scooter over here and we'll go from there, ok?”

Officer Vazquez checked out the man's scooter and found the front wheel had locked up, but he was able to fix it.

The man and his scooter were safely returned home.

The Cape Coral Police Department want to say thanks to everyone who stopped to check on the man.
