LEE COUNTY, Fla. — A Lee County man was sentenced to life in prison after being found guilty for Kidnapping, Battery, Robbery, and Theft.
Police say Maurice Tyqwan Herrera 32, Beat and kidnapped a woman he was previously dating on February 14th, 2018.
The victim agreed to meet Herrera to collect items he wanted to give back. The victim entered the vehicle with Herrera.
An argument ensued, and Herrera would not let her out.
He then drove for about 45 minutes into Collier County with the victim pleading with him to let her go.
The entire time he was threatening to kill her and continued to punch her.
Witnesses saw the victim jump out of the vehicle and called 911.
The victim had multiple injuries from the beating and road rash.
The victim survived the ordeal and was able to tell law enforcement who kidnapped her and beat her.
