LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- A man says he was robbed at gunpoint while preparing to shoot a music video in Fort Myers last weekend.
It happened Saturday night on Rue Labeau Circle in Fort Myers.
According to a Lee County Sheriff's Office report, the 19-year-old victim says he was heading to a party when an acquaintance and an unknown man picked him up in a vehicle. On the way to the party, the men said they were going to shoot a music video in front of a house under construction.
The victim says before they got started the unknown man pulled out a gun and demanded $1000, to be used as "flash money" for the video. He also took the victim's Versace belt, wallet and iPhone before driving away.
The victim described the unknown suspect as a black male approximately 18-20 years old, approximately 5'8", having shoulder-length black dreadlocks, and was wearing a white collared shirt, black jeans, and black sneakers.
Deputies were notified of the robbery and searched the area around the party but were unable to locate a suspect.
The victim says the suspect forced him to do a factory reset on the iPhone to prevent it from being traced.
