Man receives two life sentences for Sexual Battery and Burglary in Fort Myers

FORT MYERS, Fla. — The State Attorneys Office announced the sentencing of a Fort Myers man.

Authorities say, James Cochran Jr., 33, forced a 65 year old woman into her home and committed sexual battery in 2018.

Cochran was found guilty following a trial in Lee County in December.

Cochran Jr., 33, was sentenced to life in prison for each of two charges: Sexual Battery with a Deadly Weapon and Burglary.

He was also sentenced as a Prison Release Re-offender on count one and a Habitual Violent Felony Offender on count two.
